What:

Named after BB Gabor’s infamous song about life in a Russian nightclub, the MDC (Moscow Drug Club) always provide an exciting musical experience and an entertaining night of performance that encourages audiences to sing and dance! Their infectious interpretations of gypsy swing, cult classics from 1930s’ Berlin Cabaret and Parisian songwriters of the 50’s, are delivered with a knowing, slightly humorous cabaret style. Think late evening, dark eastern European cobbled streets, a few drinks and an after-hours jamming session!

Their vocalist is the North American jazz chanteuse, Katya Gorrie, trained both in classical and jazz music, as well as theatre and dance. The talented pool of musicians who make up MDC play guitar, double bass and jazz accordion with often trumpet, violin or clarinet.

"Combining their original material with songs by the likes of Jacques Brel, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits & Bertolt Brecht, the MDC provide an intoxicating and intimate musical experience."
