Another great comedy...

Par for the Course

by Peter Gordon

To all frustrated golfers, golf widows and golf haters………….this play is for you!

Captain’s Day at the Seven Lakes Golf Club gets off to a bad start when the men’s Captain is indisposed. Simon, the Club Secretary, a fussy stickler for tidiness, rules, etiquette and gentlemanly behaviour relishes the chance to take over and ‘do things properly’. However, he is thwarted by the arrival of Nick, the Vice-Captain, on his Harley Davidson who takes a very cavalier, relaxed approach to the proceedings. Nick’s younger girlfriend, Tiffany, is dragged along to help provide refreshments but would prefer to be shopping. Does she really know how to cook sausages or understand how precious is the practice putting green?

A series of disasters and confusion mount as the day doesn’t go quite to plan and as hopeless golfer, Barry, endures another bad round, the Ladies’ Captain goes on the war path and Simon’s wife arrives unexpectedly, tensions build. The characters soon discover that personal relationships off the course are more dangerous than the hazards on it!

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd.
